project description

The EVS volunteer will assist the two experienced, native English speakers within the school by teaching English. This will take place during class lessons, at lunch breaks and for extra hands such as reading and further small group activities. Furthermore, the volunteer can set up projects for an eTwinning knowledge exchange. Moreover, there is a possibility to be involved with an EEP ‘s-Hertogenbosch, where the EVS volunteer can join planning ideas, observe or even teach lessons in other schools as well as taking part in a play with other volunteers. The EVS volunteer will develop new activities such as playing games during short breaks and lunch breaks. Ideas for this can be taken from the foundations TEAMUP.Depending on the interest and talents of the volunteer, he/she can help the professional with cultural activities for example, music, dance, act, craftsmanship or physical education. accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will live in the de Hooghe Clock with other EVS volunteers, ’s-Hertogenbosch (one hour from Amsterdam). This is a new development where elderly, young, autistic, students and top athletes live. Everyone is expected to do volunteer work for a few hours a week in the house such as help-desk service, reception and organizing a bingo evening. You will live with other EVS volunteers. The room is with a bathroom and a shared kitchen. Bicycle will be available.

training during the project

The EVS volunteer will receive an on-arrival workshop and mid-term workshop. Moreover learning Dutch will be encouraged.

volunteer profile

Open-minded, social, energetic and creative youngsters who have affinity with children and are interested in music, acting, dance and craftmanship. Furthermore, he or she likes to organize and plan events and teach children. Preferably native English speaker.
